Funeral services for Nora Allen, 92, of Longview, formerly of Hughes Springs, will be at 10 A.M. Friday, July 14 at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with the Bros. Guy Pritchett and Larry Neeley officiating. Burial will be at Hughes Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Nora Allen otherwise known as “MAMMY” was born January 9, 1914 in Bessie, Oklahoma. She passed away July 12, 2006 in Longview, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lane Allen, after 59 years of marriage. Nora is survived by: her son, Murray Lane Allen and wife Mary Ann Allen of Greenbriar, Ark.; her daughter Lola Ann Hubacek and husband E.J. Hubacek of Big Sandy, and by four grandaughters, Melissa Baumgardner and husband David Baumgardner, Virginia Rincones and husband Havier Rincones, Dinah Morgan and husband Kenny Morgan, Christie Cooper and husband Andrew Cooper, and one grandson Alan Kennemer and wife Louise Kennemer; seven great grandchildren, Chelsie Jones, Kendall Cooper, Brett Morgan, Meredith Morgan, Anna Baumgardner, and Joey Kennemer. Nora was very active in the First United Methodist Church of Hughes Springs and was a member and former teacher of the Win One Sunday school class for several years. She was a resident of Harris Chapel community for 45 years, a teacher assistant in the Hughes Springs schools, was part of the Retired Teachers Association; member of the Red Radiance Garden Club. Her hobbies included singing in the choir, sewing, crocheting, watching her stories, traveling with the Young at Heart, reading, playing the organ and fishing. She loved to care for others and was always a gracious host. Mickey Jenkins, Mayo Kasling, Leon Watkins, Don Humphrey, Bill Jones, William Griffith will serve as pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Win One Sunday School Class.
