James Patman “Pat” Morgan, 94, of Hughes Springs, Texas, passed away on October 27, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
Pat was born on April 25, 1930, in Hughes Springs, Texas, to George Thomas and Myrtis Ray Morgan. As one of twelve children, Pat was known for his hardworking nature and deep commitment to his family and community. He proudly served as an Army Medic, dedicating himself to the care of others, and went on to retire from the U.S. Postal Service after many years as a rural mail carrier, bringing dependable service and friendly connections to his neighbors.
A man of diverse talents and interests, Pat had a passion for woodworking and took on metal roofing projects on the side. His dedication to craftsmanship and community was evident in all he did. A devout Christian, he found joy and fellowship participating in the Baptist rodeo, where his spirit for life shined. Pat was also a lover of bluegrass music and a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, supporting his favorite team with pride.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Myrtis Morgan, and his eleven siblings. Pat’s legacy lives on through his loving wife, Jeri Morgan; his two sons, Randy Morgan and wife Pam, and Keith Morgan and wife Charlot; his step-sons, Kerry Mullins and wife Fay, and Jared Morgan and wife Tammy; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of friends and loved ones who cherished him.
Pat’s life of service, family devotion, and dedication to faith left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
