Patricia Sheffield Erwin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2025, in Linden, Texas, just days shy of her 72nd birthday. Born on January 11, 1953, in Atlanta, Texas, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Howard W. and Bertha Carroll Sheffield.

A dedicated professional, Patricia devoted 46 years to Texana Bank, where her warmth and integrity left a lasting impact on colleagues and customers alike. Her faith and commitment to her community were cornerstones of her life. Patricia served as the Nursery Coordinator for First Baptist Church for over two decades, nurturing countless young lives. She was an active leader in the Linden Kildare Ex-Students Association, holding roles such as President and Vice President, and she generously gave nine years of service to the Linden Kildare Athletic Boosters.

Patricia also shared her love for nature and community pride as the Director of the Wildflower Trails of Texas for many years. Her contributions were as vibrant as the wildflowers she celebrated, leaving a legacy of beauty and connection.

Known for her kind heart, radiant smile, and ability to make everyone feel loved and welcome, Patricia touched all who knew her. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Howard W. and Bertha Sheffield. She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, 7 months, and 3 days, Mr. Buddy Erwin; her son, Shayne Erwin; her daughter, Tracie Arnold, and her husband Ben; her adored grandchildren, Chase Bynum and Cade Bynum; her sister, Donna Hays, and her husband Brian; her brother, Bill Sheffield; and her best friend and “sister by choice” of over 60 years, Sharon Shelton. She also leaves behind a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Patricia’s life was a testament to faith, family, and service. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to bloom in the hearts of those she touched.
