Patricia Ann Lewis was born November 7, 1959 to the parentage of Dorothy Marie Traylor and James Benson in Dallas, Texas. She attended Daingerfield ISD, Spence Middle School and graduated from James Madison High School. She attended Southern Methodist University (SMU), as she was  chosen for the Upward Bound Program due to academic excellence. She also received her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from North Texas Community College.

Pat started her employment career as a manager at Jack in the Box, being the youngest manager in her region. She later worked as a lead tech for Ileene Cleaning services where she was area supervisor. Pat also worked at Dallas County Correctional Center for many years. After relocating back to East Texas, where she was raised as a young child, she continued her employment, working briefly at Pilgrim’s Pride, before retiring as a Drill Sergeant for Bowie County Correctional Center. It was there at she received many awards of excellence.

She loved the Lord and joined Shady Grove Baptist Church at an early age. Although she was never married or had biological children of her own, Pat found love and was shown love from all that were close to her, especially her younger nieces and nephews. Her happiness was to spoil them. She also enjoyed fishing, going on cruises and other family vacations. She had a love for perfume and music, especially the Blues, playing cards and dominoes, and just being with her family. She lived life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Marie Traylor; father, James Benson; sister, Carrie “Popcorn” Wells; bonus sister, Belinda Lewis; grandparents, Mack and Emma Traylor; aunts, Annie Bell Traylor, Bobbie White Phox, Delores Lafayette; and uncle, Terry Traylor.

She leaves to cherish her memories: sisters, Judy Hines (Lonnie), Charlotte Lewis (Paul, Sr.), Reginer Green Andrews (Perry), LaShondra Green; brothers, Charles Lewis (Kathy),   Allen Green (Treshia), Johnny Wells (LaFonda); bonus sisters, Lois Gordon (Gerald), and Felicia Lewis. She also had additional family she loved dearly: Kelvin Benson, James Benson, Jr. “Tub”, LaShawn Benson, Jane Benson, Joe Benson, Freddie Benson, Jerry Benson, and Ruby Benson; special friends, Tiffany Maxwell, Ms. Billie, and Cecilia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
