Funeral services for Paul Winford Shirley, 80, of Lone Star will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Veal Switch Missionary Baptist church with Bro. Butch Shipp and Bro. Beetle officiating. Burial will follow at Veal Switch Cemetery in Hughes Springs under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Shirley was born December 13, 1931 in Winnsboro and passed away Thursday, December 29, at his residence. He was a US Army veteran and had worked as a Foreman at US Steel (formerly Lone Star Steel). He is survived by his wife of 61 years Jean Shirley; two sons and a daughter-in-law Jimmy Paul Shirley and Dale and Cindy Shirley; three daughters and a son-in-law Pam Vaughn, Renee Vaughn Yarbrough and Dane and Sheila Edmiston; nine grandchildren, Kristie Shirley, Jennifer, Randy, Amber and Randy, Amber and Wendy Vaughn, Cody, Haylee, Ashlee and Brady Edmiston; five great grandchildren; and one brother Orville Shirley and sister-in-law Linda. Mr. Shirley is preceded in death by two brothers Vaughn "Pod" and R.B. Shirley; and one sister Sylvia "Pud" Martin. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Awana Club or the youth at Veal Switch Baptist Church.
