Paula Louise Gammill Simmons, 67, of Linden, Texas left this world on  January 23, 2021 to be with the Lord.  Mrs. Simmons was born May 2, 1953 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Paul Gammill and Thelma Whatley Gammill.  She graduated from Linden-Kildare High School and married Wayne Simmons on September 15, 1972.  Paula was a housewife, mother and a wonderful grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Gerald Wayne Simmons; son, Gerald Wayne Simmons, Jr. and wife, Roni; daughter, Crystal Marie Stanton; two granddaughters, Hala Simmons and Piper Stanton; grandson, River Stanton; brother, Gary Lynn Gammill and wife, Judy; special niece and nephew, Edward and Renee Jones, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Thelma Gammill and sister, Gail.

Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 29, 2021 in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.  Burial to follow in the Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home for friends and family to view and sign the registry.

  1. I cannot find the words to let you know how much Paula meant to me! If she loved you, she loved with her whole being! She will be forever my ‘sister’ and will be greatly missed! My deepest condolences! May God’s comforting arms surround her family and loved ones!
