Pearlena Doretha Jones

Services for Pearlena Doretha Jones, 94,of Hughes Springs will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Reeder-Davis Chapel.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.  

Pearlena D. (Hatten) Jones was born August 13,1926, to Otha D. (Jimmerson) Hatten and Sonny Boy Hatten.  She attended public school in Daingerfield, Texas.  She accepted Christ at an early age at Liberty United Methodist Church in Hughes Springs, Texas.  She was a willing servant and a dedicated worker in the church for many years.   

Pearlena was a character.  She never met a stranger!  She loved to make people laugh and was the life of the party.  She was outspoken and would tell you how she felt about you—good or bad!  She was a wonderful cook.  Everyone loved her cooking!

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James A. Jones; a daughter Earline Jones-Johnson; a sister Malvia Peppers and a brother Freddie Mack Hatten.

She leaves to cherish her memories her granddaughters, Shemetric (Lester) Williams and Samtisha (Eddie) Searcy of Hughes Springs; five great-grandchildren, Ashanti Searcy, Jeren Williams, E.J. Searcy, Kaleb Williams and Kace Searcy and one great-great grandchild, Kanean Searcy; one sister Rosie Richardson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
