Services for Pearlie Montgomery, 78, of Ore City, will be 1:00 Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Paul Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Coffeeville Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. There will be a time for visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday evening at St. Paul Baptist Church.

Missionary Pearlie M. Montgomery was born September 3, 1939 to the parentage of Willie D. Brown and Rosie Lee (Abron) Brown.

She was introduced to Christ at an early age. A member of Morning Star COGIC of Ore City, Texas. Missionary Montgomery was an active woman of God in neighboring churches and communities. She was always willing to lift up the name of GodΒ  by scripture and song. Her special song was Don’t Let The Devil Ride. She received her education at Ore City Elementary Middle School. She graduated from Valley View High School and continued her education at Kilgore College. She married Todd Montgomery and to this union two children were born, Kennith Earl Montgomery and Pamela Denise Montgomery.

Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by her brother, Willie A. Brown; and two sisters, Dorothy F. Brown and Annie R. (Brown) Camp.

She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Kennith E. Montgomery of Lone Star; daughter, Pamela Walker-Slaughter (Ronald) of Gilmer; one brother, Willie C. Brown of Desoto; five grandchildren, Tiffani Montgomery, Kennith E. Montgomery II of Pittsburg, Patrick D. Walker of Longview, RoDerrick D. Walker of Ore City, and Jerrick D. Walker of Sterling, Kansas; one great grandchild, Taniya D. Johnson; daughter-in-law, Debbie (Roney) Montgomery; son-in-law, Raymond D. Walker; special friend, Margine Mims; and a host of foster children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

  11. You have my sympathy on your loss of Mrs. Montgomery. Ecclesiastes 3:11 helps us see that death is unnatural, that is why it is so difficult to deal with. However you can gain comfort and strength from our Heavenly Father through His word to us; such as Revelation 21:4; Acts 24:15 and Psalms 37:10-11. May you have peace and comfort from Almighty God
