HUGHES SPRINGSFuneral services for Peggy Sue Hitchcock, 67, of Omaha, will be Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Kildare with the Bro. Kerry Adamek, assisted by Bro. Thomas Potter. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery, near Linden, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Hitchcock was born March 24, 1941 in Linden, to Bill and Jean Delacerda, and she died June 26, 2008 in a Longview hospital. Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law Rocky and Pennie Hitchcock of Omaha, Tim and CC Hitchcock of Smithland; two daughters Tammie Holliman of Omaha and Pam Lasika of Niagara Falls, NY; four brothers and sisters-in-law Mark and Glenda Delacerda of Waxahachie, TX, Don and Lisa Delacerda of Frankston, TX, Jerry and Barbara Delacerda of Pryor, OK, Keith and Wanda Delacerda of Morrillton, AR; three sisters and one brother-in-law Delores and Bobby Loyd of Hughes Springs, TX, Lois Latham of Marshall, TX; Bobbie Shelton of Texarkana, TX; ten grandchildren Jesse, Holly, Brandi, Jeff, Kelly Ray, Tara, Ashley, Amber, Kimberly and Erica; three great grandchildren Jade, Derek and Isaiah; many nieces and nephews; and her Mt. Moriah church family. Mrs. Hitchcock was preceded in death by her husband Alvie Hitchcock, her parents Bill and Jean Delacerda, and one brother Ken Delacerda. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 27 after 6 PM at the funeral home.

  1. My sister,(Donna Rhyne) who is now deceased, and I had the pleasure of working with Peggy and becoming friends with her. I shall treasure the last time Peggy and I saw one another.   5. Ms. Peggy was truly a gift from God to us at Mt Moriah and we treasured every day we had her with us! She was such a blessing to me. That smile could light up a room and warm the coldest heart. My prayers are with you in this time of sadness.

  8. We were saddened to hear about Peggy. Peggy and Alvie were friends of ours in the early days of our marriage here in Avinger. Their children and ours played together and we visited often. Sorry that we did not hear about this in time to attent the visitation and funeral. We remember Rocky,Tim,Tammie and Pam. Our Tammie and Todd played together.
