Precious Memories Unfolded To everything there is a season, a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, a time to die: A time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted. On September 29, 1933 in Avinger, Texas, a blessed event took place. Wesley and Ira Lee Johnson were blessed with a tiny baby girl. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson named their baby Peggy Lee. At an early age, she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and united with Union Hill Baptist Church. Peggy Lee was joined in marriage to Coolidge Montgomery, Sr. To this union twelve children were born, three preceded her in death, Phillip, Donny and Ronny Montgomery and one brother, Morris Johnson, and one step-son James Montgomery preceded her in death. Out of all that was said and done after 75 years of service on this earth, the Lord whispered to Ms. Peggy Lee to come and rest. Therefore, on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at a Garland Nursing Home, she fell asleep in the Arms of Jesus upon His command, leaving to cherish her memory, six daughters Patsy Moore (Henry) of Memphis, TN, Charlene Jackson (Earnest) of Dallas, TX, Nollie Spears of Glen Heights, TX, Victoria Conwright (Milton) of Grand Prairie, TX, Carol Montgomery of Cedar Hill, TX, Jackie Brewer of Allen, TX; three step-daughters Margaret Armstrong (Morris) of Oak Leaf, TX, Linda Moore (Larry) of Desoto, TX, and Lois Weeks (Flood) of Desoto, TX; three sons Marvin Montgomery (Brenda) of Lancaster, TX, Morris Montgomery (Hazel) of Dallas, TX, and Coolidge Montgomery, Jr. (Shelia) of Glen Heights, TX; two sisters Juanita Thornton of Ft. Worth, TX and Janet Raglin of Carthage, TX; nineteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, August 14, 2009 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Hughes Springs.
