LindenServices for Ralph W. Gilbert, 83, of Linden will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Linden with Bro. Jackie Stanfield officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery, with military honors, under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation will be Tuesday night from 6 :00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Mr. Gilbert was born March 26, 1924, in Linden, Texas to Robert A. and Mary Clyde Savage Gilbert. He died March 23, 2008 at his residence. He was a World War II Veteran, a member of First Baptist Church of Linden, a member of Linden Lion's Club, a charter member of the Linden Hospital Board of Directors and retired owner of Gilbert Lumber Company. He is survived by his wife Lou Neva Gilbert of Linden; two sons and two daughters-in-law: Ron and Joy Gilbert of Tyler, Texas and Dennis and Kathy Gilbert of Linden, Texas; five grandsons and four granddaughters-in-law Greg and Moriah Gilbert, Matthew Gilbert, Kevin and Kristy Gilbert, Mark and Renee' Gilbert and Clay and Kristen Gilbert, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
