A celebration of the life of Mrs. Rene’ Lanier, 70, of Linden, Texas, will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2026 in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs, with Bro. Lloyd Shuecraft officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. Monday and lasting until service time.
Vivian Rene’ Collins Lanier, age 70, of Linden, Texas, left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 21, 2026.
Rene’ was born on June 12, 1956 in Naples, Texas to Travis Levi Collins and Ramona Trumble Collins. Rene’ will be remembered most for her selfless heart and the way she was always thinking of others. She was kind, generous, hardworking, and had a wonderful sense of humor that would make everyone laugh. Her faith and her love for her family were an important part of her life. Rene’ had a special gift for making people feel loved and cared for, by taking the time to make calls as well as sending special handwritten cards filled with encouraging words. She also dearly loved her precious dogs throughout the years, which held a very special place in her heart. Above all, Rene’ loved with her whole heart. She cared deeply for the people in her life and had a way of making each person feel special. Her kindness and love touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rene’ is survived by her mother Ramona Collins, brothers Larry (Karen) Collins, Roger Collins, Mona (George) Horsley, sister-n-law Shelia (Herb) Fitzgerald, son Michael (Jenny) Lanier, daughter Misty Lanier Fisher, grandchildren Travis (April), Jacob, Leah, Aileen, and Abrie; and great-grandchildren Naomi and Winona. She also adored her aunt Jo Collins Phillips, her sweet nieces, and best friends Vickie Fisher Williamson and Jeannie Adams Croley.
Rene’ was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Billy Ray Lanier, Jr., father Levi Collins, brother Wade Collins. Pall bearers for the service are Michael Lanier, Billy Long, Travis Lanier, Jacob Lanier, George Horsley, and Mark Crossland.

I had not seen her in decades; but something tells me that she was the same sweet Rene……

To the families and friends of Renee’
I pray for Gods peace and comfort in this time of loss. Renee was my childhood friend and stood in my wedding. Renee and my mother flew to California when Billy and my brother graduated from boot camp in the Marines in the 70’s. Renee always had a way of making you laugh and smile. Misty looking at you is like looking at Renee in her teenage and early married years and Michael you look so much like your Dad. I was able to visit Renee and Billy and they shared their love of Jesus and praised Him for His mercy and grace upon both their lives. I think about what is it like when they have come face to face with Jesus.
