Services for Rhena Mae Carwile, 88, of Hughes Springs will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 3, at First United Methodist Church of Hughes Springs with Rev. Heidi Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Carwile was born April 24, 1923 and passed away June 28 at a Longview hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Texas Retired Teachers Association and a Secretary in Education. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law John Lewis, Jr. Johnny Carwile of Hughes Springs and Roger Dale and Carolyn Carwile of Greenville; a daughter and son-in-law Gwyndyl Carwile Fenton and Jerry Fenton of Gilmer; eight grandchildren Kristy and Ken Carwile, Greg Fenton, Jennifer Dracos, Shelley Smith, Phillip ONeal, Jana Martel and David ONeal, Jr.; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John Lewis Carwile, Sr.; a daughter Lyndyl ONeal, a sister Mattie Grubbs; and three brothers Sperry Black, Hoyt Black and Greer Black. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Heartsway Hospice, 1306 Pine Tree Road, Longview, TX 75604.

So sorry for your loss. She was a very unique and classy lady. I still have an afghan she had made for me. I will hold my special memories of her to my heart. God Bless all during this time.

My sincere condolences to all the family. I have known and loved this lady since my family came to Texas in 1947. Later I was privileged to work with her and to teach Roger and several of her grand children. She will be greatly missed, not only by her sweet family, but by all of Hughes Springs. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Johnny I am so sorry I did not know your mother had passed until today. She was such a sweet and lovely lady. I will always remember her beautiful crochet and all of her beautiful treasure she collected. I know you and your sister will treasure them just as much.
