LINDEN Funeral services for Robert Earl (Bob) Hampton, 76, of Linden will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday May 23, 2010 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Atlanta with Rev. Mac L. Bearss officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home, Inc. A visitation will be Saturday from 5 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Hampton was born in Carterville, Texas to Murray and Nola Dell Thomas Hampton on January 16, 1934. He passed away at his home in Linden, Thursday, May 20, 2010. Mr. Hampton served for twenty years in the U. S. Air Force, Strategic Air Command, retiring in 1973. He was an auto mechanic, an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and enjoyed fishing and working with his bird dogs. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kay, of Linden; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brian Robert Hampton of Round Rock and Christopher Wade and Jennifer Hampton of Little Rock, Arkansas; two grandsons, Levi Robert and Cody Christopher Hampton of Round Rock; a niece, Kristine Hampton of Tyler; a grand-niece, K.C. Sealy and a nephew, Shawn Hampton of Tyler; also, many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Charles Reed Hampton.
