Funeral services for Robert D V Yeager, 89, of Jenkins will be Friday, June 27 at 10:30 A.M. at Hughes Springs Church of Christ with Bob Griggs officiating. Burial will be at Clark Cemetery in Daingerfield under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Yeager was born February 7, 1919 in Mt. Pleasant and he died June 23, 2008 in a Longview hospital. He served in the US Army during WWII, he was a member of the Woodmen of the World and he was a member of Lilley's Chapel Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Rama Ollie Yeager; three sons and two daughters-in-law Robert Ervin and Peggy Yeager of Tyler, TX, Donald Gene and Karen Yeager of Tennessee, and Danny Ray Yeager of Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert William and Idella Price Yeager, six sisters Mattie Lou Davis, Clara Ann Jeffcoat, Tommie Avery, Collistia E. Avery, Ala Edna Ridings and Gertrude Yeager; and one brother Johnnie Yeager. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 26 after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

  3. D.V. was such a blessing to so many people. He worked so hard years ago in helping to build the fellowship room at Lilley's Chapel, and he taught me alot during the process. It was an honor to know him, and we look forward to the day in Heaven when we'll see him again.
