LINDENRobert Lynn Riddle, 67, entered into rest September 5, 2007 in a Linden hospital. Robert was born in New Orleans, LA, on October 14, 1939 to Mittie Iwana Kellum and Lindon Edward Riddle. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Gayle, his loving daughter, Lori Susan Corley and husband, Scott; two precious grandchildren, Alex Lynn Williams and Jena Suzanne Corley all of Longview; two loving stepsons, Steven L. Detro of Linden and Shannon L. Detro of Beaumont. Also, one dear brother, Eddie Riddle and wife, Bobbie, of Hughes Springs; two sweet sisters, Gail Hall and husband Charlie of Marshall and Glenna McElhaney of Charleston, SC; several nephews, nieces and other family as well as many, many other family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Riddle. Robert was a Master Mason, a member of Linden Lodge 192, AF&AM, and served as Master of the Lodge three times; he was a member of Linden Chapter 576 Order of the Eastern Star, serving as current Worthy Patron; he recently celebrated 34 years with Lanier Chevrolet; was song leader at Linden Church of Christ; and a member of the Linden Volunteer Fire Department. Robert was a loving father, brother, friend, and best Daddy and Pap in the whole wide world. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 8, 2007 in the funeral home chapel with Rick Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, September 7 from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

  10. I delivered GM parts to Robert for 7 years. Since Lanier was one of my last stops, I was able to spend some time with Robert before heading back to Shreveport. He loved his family and life. He was a friend. I'll miss him.
