Funeral services for Mr. Ronnie Jones, Sr., age 71, formerly of Daingerfield, Texas, will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Burial will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. Jones will lie in state from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 at the funeral home.
Ronnie “Ron” Ray Jones Sr. was born to the parentage of Melvin Jones Sr. and Hazel Marie Jones. He was born on January 3, 1953, in Ore City, TX.
Ronnie attended Daingerfield Independent School District and later finished high school in Los Angeles, California. He later in life returned to Daingerfield, TX and married Mary Austin of Daingerfield, TX. Ronnie had many careers but was especially proud of his career traveling North America as a professional truck driver.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; Melvin Jones Sr. and Hazel Marie Jones, 2 brothers; Thomas Jones and Melvin Jones Jr. and a sister Ruthie Ann Brown.
He leaves to cherish his wife Mary Jones, 5 kids; Rhonda Jones and Katrina Jones of California; Ronnie Jones of Daingerfield, TX, Lanesia Jones of Austin, TX, and Keiara Jones of Daingerfield, TX, 3 sisters; Linda Williams of Gilmer, TX, Virginia Crawford of Mount Pleasant, Janis (Loyd) Johnson of Omaha, TX, 2 brothers; William Curtis Jones of Daingerfield, TX, Kevin Jones of Rusk, TX; A special friend, An Aunt Bessie Faye King of Cason, TX, special friend, Nora Dean Richardson; 7 grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
