Funeral services for Runette Alexander Copeland, 83, of Hughes Springs will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 30 at First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs with Bro. Mickey Rorex officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Copeland was born April 18, 1926 in Pine, Texas to the parents of Robbie and Nannie Lee Hart and passed away Monday, December 28 at her residence. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she and Norman Alexander raised their three daughters. She was preceded in death by Norman Alexander, husband for 50 plus years, and one great-grandchild Eban James Brown. Mrs. Copeland is survived by her husband Doyle Copeland of Hughes Springs; three daughters Nan Walker and her husband Ed of Cypress; Sue Wilson and her husband Jim of Longview and Julie Johnson and her husband Allen of Alexandria, LA; grandchildren Alan Brown, Andrew Brown, Aaron Brown, Shane Abernathy, Will Abernathy, Melissa Wells, Christopher Johnson, Alexandra Johnson; and eight great grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home

She was a very sweet lady and despite her inability to communicate the way she wanted in her later years, we here at the bank who waited on her tried our best to understand and do what she wanted. She is already very much missed and my prayers are with you all. She really was a lovely lady and I know you girls are very proud to have had her as your mother.
