Ruthie Jones Brown was the oldest daughter of 9 children born to Melvin and Hazel Taylor Jones.  Mrs. Brown was born December 22, 1953.  She joined Snowhill Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Love Pentecostal Church in Daingerfield, Texas under the leadership of J.H. Henderson.  Ruthie attended Daingerfield High School and then furthered her education at Paris Junior College.  She later went to work at Pilgrim's from 1974 to the late 1980's.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Jones, Sr. and Hazel Taylor Jones; brothers, Melvin Jones, Jr. and Thomas Jones.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons, Billy Jones and wife Patricia of Sulphur Springs, TX, Darrell Jones Brown of Paris, TX; brothers, Ronnie Jones of Sulphur Springs, TX, William Curtis Jones of Daingerfield, TX, Kelvin Jones of Rusk, TX; sisters, Linda Williams of Gilmer, TX, Virginia Jones of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Janis and Loyd Johnson of Omaha, TX; grandchildren, Joshua Jermaine Brown, Brenna Waters, Joshua Jackson; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a lifetime special friend, Joe Lewis.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Snow Hill Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Ms. Brown will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
