Shannon Paige Scarborough Hanes, age 58, of Daingerfield, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 14, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family.

Born on December 13, 1965, in Tyler, Texas, Shannon was the cherished daughter of Johnny and Barbara Lee Scarborough. She grew up with a love for her family and community, values she carried throughout her life. Shannon’s faith was a guiding light; she was an active member of Church on the Rock in Daingerfield, where she fostered many close friendships and devoted herself to serving others.

Known for her generous spirit and deep compassion, Shannon was a past volunteer with the Cason Fire Department, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She was also a talented seamstress, finding joy in creating handcrafted pieces for her loved ones. Family trips to Branson were among her favorite memories, but it was her treasured grandchildren that brought her the most joy. Shannon was admired for her bubbly personality and unwavering strength—a friend to many and a source of inspiration for her family.

Shannon is lovingly remembered by her husband, Joel Hanes of Daingerfield; her children, Remington Hanes (Jessica), Jessica Hunter (Kevin), Sterling Hanes (Miranda), and Addison Hanes; her grandchildren, Jesse Hanes, Colter Hanes, Remington Hanes, Travon Hunter, Makayla Hunter, Autumn Hunter, Jensen Hanes, and Christina McCray; her mother, Barbara Scarborough; her brother, Mack Scarborough (Anita); and her sister, Lana Whitehead. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Scarborough, and her granddaughter, Scarlett Hunter.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Shannon’s life at a viewing and visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs, Texas.

Shannon’s warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family and community will forever be remembered. Her legacy of love and service lives on in those who were fortunate enough to know her.
