Sharon Elaine Bernardini, 78, of Lone Star, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, at a hospital in Tyler, Texas. Elaine was born on November 13, 1946, in Corsicana, Texas, to Aubrey and Catherine Ellis.
She grew up in East Texas and graduated from Hughes Springs High School in 1965. After attending business school, Elaine began a life of dedication to her family. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Aaron and Clint, and later found fulfillment in her role as an office nurse for Dr. Leeves, where she took great pride in caring for others.
Elaine had a love for life and nature that was evident in all she did. She found joy in gardening, especially gathering and cultivating roses, a passion she lovingly referred to as “rose rustling.” Just last year, her hard work and creativity were recognized when her yard was awarded “Yard of the Month.” Her love of flowers and the outdoors extended into her later years, when she was introduced to hunting by her second husband, Art, a hobby she came to enjoy. She had two special animals in her life: her loyal dog, Angus, who preceded her in death, and her cherished cat, Catherine, who remained a source of comfort in her later years.
Elaine was a woman of faith and a member of Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a kind and compassionate woman who loved her family deeply and embraced the beauty in lifeβs simple pleasures.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Catherine Ellis; her first husband, James E. Alcorn; her second husband, Art Bernardini; and her brother, Wayne Ellis.
She is survived by her sons, Aaron Alcorn and wife Kim of Gilmer, Texas, and Clint Alcorn of Hughes Springs, Texas; as well as her beloved grandson, Hunter Alcorn.
Funeral services to celebrate Elaine’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs. A private burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
