Sheila Ann Mitchell, 63, of Daingerfield, Texas, passed away at her home on August 18, 2024. Born on April 22, 1961, in Breckenridge, Texas, to Harold and Carolyn Berkley, Sheila lived a life full of love, laughter, and vibrant energy.
Sheila worked briefly in a boat factory before dedicating her time to being a homemaker, wife and mother. Sheila cherished the quiet moments fishing by the water until her health no longer allowed it. Her family and friends remember her as someone who was always up for a good time, with a personality as bright as the colorful outfits she loved to wear. Sheila had a special gift for making people feel welcome and loved, and she never missed an opportunity to dress up, socialize and spread joy. Her husband, Carroll, lovingly called her his “angel,” a title she more than earned with her kind heart and generous spirit.
Sheila is survived by her husband, Carroll Mitchell of Daingerfield; her daughter, Lisa Taylor, and her husband, Jason, of Pittsburg, Texas; her son, Troy Reed of Lone Star, Texas; her beloved grandchildren, Luke and Breanna Spencer, Hannah, Bryley and Austin Reed; two stepdaughters and their families; her sister, Lori Berkley; and her loyal dog, Buster. She also leaves behind her four legged son. Buster who was always by her side; a host of extended family and dear friends who meant the world to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Carolyn Berkley; her brothers, Alvin Berkley and Harold Berkley; and her stepchildren, Summer Mitchell and Wayne Mitchell.
Sheila will be remembered as a wonderful mother, a woman who lived life to the fullest, and a beloved friend to many. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Services for Mrs. Mitchell will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Cedar Springs Baptist Church, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
