February 11, 1958 ~ March 10, 2025

Born in: Morris County, Texas
Resided in: Lone Star, Texas

Sherri Menton Woods, 67, of Lone Star, was a free spirit with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. A little bit hippie and a whole lot of kindness, she brightened the lives of everyone who knew her.

Sherri was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She attended Panola College, where she excelled in her studies, and carried that same dedication and passion into everything she did. She loved the outdoors and had a special affection for animals, especially dogs. Her beloved dog, Bear, held a truly special place in her heart.

Sherri’s love for her family was immense, and she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Nelle Menton; her beloved daughter, Terri Woods; and her brother, Robert Menton.

She leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply: her faithful and constant companion, her dog Bear; her sons, Michael Woods and his wife Danielle of Harleton, and Adam Woods of Jefferson; her three sisters, Rhonda Osborn, Jeannie Carr and husband Mark, and Kristi Garcia, all of Lone Star; and her adored grandchildren, Lane, Lexi, Alli, AJ, Julie, Tony, Nick, Cameron, Cason, and Caden. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and treasured friends, all of whom were touched by her warmth and kindness.

Services to honor and celebrate Sherri’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Woodlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Sherri’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and her spirit — wild, kind, and full of love — will never be forgotten.
