ParkerSondra and I met on October 10, 1974, in Dallas, Texas. It was a meeting that changed my life for the good. It brought me love, companionship, a partnership and a friendship for more than 42 years. We were married in Dallas on November 4, 1975, and soon after moved to El Paso, Texas, with my job transfer. She was a beautiful and true first class lady - a lady of class, beauty, elegance, good taste, and strong will with a great appreciation for fine art, antiques, books, and classical music. Plus she loved the music of Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline - it may surprise you - as well as Carol King, Janis Joplin and Cat Stevens. She was an avid reader and collector of books from a very early age, and reading was her favorite pastime. She had meticulous good taste in clothing, fine furniture, good food and drink and all the finer things of life. She truly enjoyed owning and operating The Golden Bough on the square in Georgetown, Texas, her tea room and art and antiques gallery for several years.
She definitely lived life to the fullest! She was a remarkable woman and was very influential in our lives. We miss her.
Dear James Parker and family, The Golden Bough Art Gallery in Georgetown Texas was were Jerry and I met for the very first time Aug 8, 2004. It was a first Friday event and was the first all member art show by the new Taylor Artists’ Guild of which Jerry was the currant president. Soon I was working at the Golden Bough for Sondra, and that was were I met so many of my long time friends in Texas. After that first event, we enjoyed many gatherings at art shows at the Golden Bough, and at Jerry’s home in Taylor. It was a wonderful time many of us will never forget. Thank you Sondra and James for you kind encouragement and famous hospitality to get the Taylor Artists’ Guild up and running and bringing us all together. We love you and wish you the best. We send our heartfelt condolences. Rebecca Lee and Jerry Frankeny
My condolences to the loved ones of Sondra Parker: May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard your hearts during this period of sadness. (Philippians 4:6-7)
I loved Sondra very much. She always knew the right direction to point me in. We were unlikely roommates in Santa Fe but Alan Oken knew what he was doing. We bonded over being Leo’s and laughed and laughed over a martini or two. We went into the hot springs after making sure Sondra had new shorts and tank top. I am sure you will miss her everyday. She will be an angel for all of us. With love and light, Carol

To James and family. My heart felt sympathy on the loss of Sondra. We met at Alan Oken’s conference in Santa Fe, N.M. a number of years ago. Sondra was an integral part of the wonderful experience we all had during that spiritual journey. We re-connected during my annual trips to Dallas which always included shopping, eating good Texas food, sharing lots of good memories and laughter. It was always a wonderful experience to talk on the phone or be around her. My deepest sympathy to you all. Josephine Clar
Greetings James and all who may read this, I had the great pleasure of knowing this fine lady, Sondra, in my capacity as an astrologer and teacher of the Wisdom to which astrology belongs and for which Sondra had so much love. She enjoyed the expansive view of life both celestial and terrestrial that astrology gave to her and from her studies was able to guide and support many others. it was an honor for me to travel and share these Teachings with Sondra and I wish her God’s Grace and Love as she travels forth now on another amazing Voyage. Kindest wishes to those she has left behind but whom she will never leave. Alan Oken
James, Ruth just found this. Sorry to be so late offering our condolences. We have thought of you often, but only checked facebook. It’s probably been 40 years since we had dinner with the two of you. We hope you are well and healing from your loss. May God bless and help bring you healing. Sincerely, Drew & Ruth
