Stella Marian T. Ellington of Linden Texas passed away peacefully on June 30, 2021 in Bend, Oregon.

She was born to Michael and Pauline Trach, in Port Coleborne, Ont. Canada on March 20,1929. When Stella was 10, she immigrated with her parents and her brother Ed to Minnesota. There, she attended school graduating from West High School in Minneapolis. After meeting on a cross-country train ride and a short courtship, Stella married the love of her life, Ben Ellington on June 22, 1949.

As newlyweds they settled in Washington D.C. where Ben worked for the Treasury Department and Stella worked for the Bureau of the Budget. After Ben started working for the state department, they moved with their children, Donna and Jeff, to posts in Argentina, India and Mexico City over the span of 15 years. After Ben retired, they moved back to Ben's home town of Linden, Texas. There, they became involved in many civic organizations and clubs. Stella especially enjoyed her years on the hospital board and the garden club. She enjoyed painting, gardening, flower arranging, reading and traveling. After Ben passed in 2009, Stella made a yearly visit to Bend, OR to visit her children and grandchildren. She made sure to share one of her passions, the theatre, with her family by making trips to Oregon Shakespeare festival every year.  Most of all, Stella enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many close friends in Linden. Her best friends that formed the “Coffee Ladies'' were dear to her heart and she was grateful for their company throughout the years.

We will miss our Stella, our Mom, our Nana. We will all miss her wise counsel, her wit, and her warm embraces.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ben, her daughter Donna and granddaughter Jacqueline.

She is survived by her brother Ed Trach of Villa Hills, KY, son Jeff and daughter-in-law Denise of Bend, OR, Grandson Francisco Mirabent (Ashley) of Linden, granddaughters, Giselle Schneider (Nick) of Salem, OR and Sofia Ellington of Seattle, WA. Great grandsons Jayden and Carter Mirabent.  Nephews, Michael, Bill and Bob Trach, Louis Ellington and Niece Anna Ellington,
