Graveside services for Mr. Steve Steffey, 76, of Linden, Texas, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Harris Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Steve was born January 28, 1950, in Vincennes, Indiana, to Charles K. Steffey and LaVeda Shidler Steffey. He passed away September 15, 2026.

Affectionately nicknamed “Hollywood,” Steve was a jokester who was full of personality and always ready to make those around him laugh. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After returning home, Steve built a long career in auto mechanics.  He had a real love for Corvettes and always enjoyed seeing, talking about, and working on them. Cars were a big part of his life, but Corvettes were always his favorite.

Steve also enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to country music. He especially loved joking and carrying on with his nieces and nephews, who adored his sense of humor and larger-than-life personality.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and LaVeda Steffey.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Daphaine Peck of Vincennes, Indiana; his son, Steven Paul Steffey of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Charlotte Southers of Atlanta, Texas, Sharon Southers Allen of Linden, Texas, and Carolyn L. Reed of Nashville, Arkansas; his brother, Robert “Bob” Steffey of Texarkana, Arkansas; as well as a host of extended family and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Steve also leaves behind his beloved dog, Ginger, his faithful companion who may very well have held the biggest place of all in his heart.
