LINDEN, TX Ted Franklin McDuffie, 85, of Linden passed away Saturday, November 19, 2011 at his home in Linden. Mr. McDuffie was born in Linden on January 15, 1926 to Homer and Arrie Liles McDuffie. He was a carpenter, a member of New Colony Baptist Church and served during WWII in the Army and the Merchant Marines. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marie McDuffie of Linden; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Desiree McDuffie of Linden; two daughters, Judy Burson and Jennie McDuffie-Nunn and John Nunn, all of Linden; seven grandchildren, Samuel Burson, Michelle Hailey, Glenn Johnson, Joseph McDuffie, Dana McDuffie, Tammy Nunn, Thris Tissijinnie; and seven great grandchildren, Dustin Prestidge, Isaiah Currie, Autumn Sikes, Johnathon Nunn, Colton Mergersen, Hailey Mergersen and Johnnie Dominguez. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Franklin McDuffie, a son-in-law, Sammy Burson, his parents and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at New Colony Baptist Church, Linden, with Bro. Robert Vaughan officiating. Interment will be in New Colony Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home, Inc. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Monday.
