Troy "Bud" Griggs

Services for Troy L. Bud Griggs will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral home in Ore City.
Bud went to his heavenly home October 30, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He was born on June 10, 1939 to George and Thelma Griggs in Upshur County. He entered the United States Army in 1958, serving in Alaska and Germany. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Alaska in 1964. He was an automobile dealer and landscaper in Fort Worth before retiring to Ore City in 1986.
Bud was a long time member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, James, Juanita and Geneva.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of Ore City; his sons, Randy Griggs of Lewisville, Texas and Kenneth Griggs and his wife Whitney of Tyler, Tommy Griggs of Arizona; daughter, Christi Janecek and her husband John of Longview, and Melissa Botterbusch of Florida; brothers, Herman Griggs and Morris Griggs; nine grandchildren; and extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans in his name.

My sympathies to Mr. Griggs family: May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories as you look forward to the time when, as Isaiah 33:24 tells us, no resident will say I am sick. .Jesus said at John 11:25 I am the resurrection and the life. The one, who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life. What comfort and hope because all of Gods promises come true.
