LINDEN-- Margaret Valerie (Stone) Skelton, 94, Augusta, KS, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Reeder Davis Schindler Funeral Home in Linden, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, at First Southern Baptist Church in Augusta and 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at New Colony Baptist Church, Linden, Texas. Burial will follow at the New Colony Cemetery, Linden, TX. Mrs. Skelton was born in Cass County, Texas on Dec. 22, 1912, the daughter of the late Charles Clem and Hettie Minnis (Frazier) Stone. On Dec. 25, 1935, she married the late James Robert Skelton in Linden. She was a teacher in Cass County rural schools in the 30's, joined Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Alpha Upsilon Chapter in Dec. 1936. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Mikish and her husband, Richard of Augusta, KS; sister, Charlie Dell (Stone) Whatley; sister-in-law, Althara (Skelton) McDuffie; brother-in-law, John Harold Skelton, all of Linden, Texas; granddaughter, Melynnie Williams and husband,Tom of Newton, KS; and Cathy Ryan of Andover, KS; great-grandchildren, Zach Boucher and his wife Michelle, Chelsea, Caitlyn and Chandler Williams; one great great grandson, Dylan Scott Boucher; a host of nieces and nephews. Memorials to the First Southern Baptist Church in Augusta, or New Colony Cemetery in Linden, Texas.
