Funeral services for Ms. Velma Pearl Nevels, 66, of Naples, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026, at New Testament Baptist Church in Naples. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Cason, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Ms. Nevels will lie in state for a time of viewing from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2026, at the funeral home in Hughes Springs.

Ms. Nevels passed away Monday, September 21, 2026, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. The full obituary will be announced as it becomes available.
