Funeral services for Vernice Nell Susie Whitmore, 48, of Daingerfield will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 15, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Daingerfield TX with the Rev. C.D. Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Whitmore Cemetery near Daingerfield, under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. of Hughes Springs. A wake will be held from 78 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Whitmore went to be with the Lord on May 9 at her home in Daingerfield. She was born August 18, 1961, also in Daingerfield, to Argie Mae and the late R.T. Whitmore. She was a joyful person that had a strong faith. She loved to dance, and have a good time.She is survived by her mother Argie Mae Whitmore of Daingerfield; two sons and a daughter-in-law Tomedian (Moo) and Aarika Whitmore of Virginia Beach and Richard Whitmore of San Diego; a special husband Tomme Gilbert (Homer) of Lone Star and the entire Gilbert family; three sisters Carolyn Whitmore of Daingerfield, Evelyn Isaiah of Clarksville and Alicia and her husband Anthony Robinson of Longview; four brothers and two sisters-in-law Pastor George Earl Whitmore, Ricky Charles Whitmore, both of Daingerfield; James and Wanda Whitmore of Sulphur Springs; David and Katrina Whitmore of Blue Spring, Missouri; one aunt Daisy Whitmore of Los Angeles; one Uncle Leamon Epps of Daingerfield and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her father R.T. Whitmore, two brothers Henry Lawrence Whitmore (Kimmie) and R.T. Whitmore Jr. (Pook), and one sister Daisy Jean Whitmore (Red). When Moo was a lil baby… His Naval was pokin out, so my Aunt Susie had taken a half dollar n tape 2 keep it from hurting him n rubbing his clothes… (then she told me all the why's… how's… etc… or a 101 on baby care) Just Recently My own Baby Girl Had The Same Problem… Thanks 2 my 'Sweet Aunt Susie…' I Had NO Problem with Harmonie's Naval… We Loved Her.. I am so very sorry to hear about Vernice death; I sure wish I had been able to attend her funeral services but I had prior obligations. I do hope that all you know that My thoughts and prayers went out to you….Vernice and I shared a lot of conversations and laughs.
