walter johnson
Honoring the life of Mr. Walter A. Johnson, Jr. Walter was born October 30, 1927 to Mr. Walter A. and Mary Johnson, Sr., in Morris County, Texas. He was the first of their three sons. His parents and brother, Streetman, preceded him in death. After being separated from his parents, he and his brothers were reared by their Uncle Tom and Aunt Pearlie Johnson in Marietta, Texas. He attended school in the Bethlehem community. Walter came to know Christ at an early age and joined the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Walter was a kind and gentle man who loved to tease and joke with his friends and relatives. As a youth, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a hard worker on the farm and for a time worked at the Marietta Saw Mill. Walter had been ill for some time and resided at the Linden HealthCare Center. Weary from his labor and illness, he departed this life on Sunday, September 12, 2010 and went to be with the Lord in eternal rest. He is survived by his youngest brother, Mr. Delno Johnson of Las Vegas, Nevada, and two neices. His cousin-in-law, Mrs. Eva Johnson of Marietta, has acted as his guardian for the past ten years. He is also survived by other cousins, family and friends. "Blessed are they that do His commandments that they may have a right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." Revelations 22:14
