Funeral services for Warner E. McClellan of Hughes Springs will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, at Missionary Baptist Church in Hughes Springs with Rev. Larry Neeley and Rev. Tommy Estes officiating. Burial will follow in Hughes Springs Cemetery in Hughes Springs under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. McClellan died September 12, 2009, at home in Hughes Springs, Texas. He was born in Lincoln County, Alabama on November 9, 1933 to Tom and Beulah McClellan. Mr. McClellan was retired from Lone Star Steel, a veteran of the US Army and a lifelong member of the Beaverbrook Country Club. Along with his love of golf, Mr. McClellan enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables. Mr. McClellan is survived by his wife of 54 years Patsy Hawkins McClellan of Hughes Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Ranell McClellan of Marshall; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Dean Lee of Longview; sister Pat Naron of Hughes Springs; four grandchildren, Ben Smith, Shonda Smith and fianc Mike Morris, Marci and husband Todd Curry, Maegan McClellan and one great grand-daughter Laney Lee Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Heartsway Hospice or St. Jude Children's Hospital. The family wishes a heartfelt thank you to Heartsway Hospice and to his friend and golfing buddy, Dr. C.R. Martin. Visitation will be Monday, September 14, 2009. Family will receive friends and family from 6-8 p.m. evening at the funeral home in Hughes Springs.
