Willie Lee Anderson was born on April 21, 1931, in Ore City, Texas, to Franklin Pierce Anderson and Laura Carr Anderson. He attended Duncan School and, at an early age, committed his life to Christ. He was a devoted member of St. Paul Baptist Church before later joining Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Willie Lee had a passion for the simple joys in life. He loved watching old Westerns, spending peaceful days fishing, and coaching baseball and softball. As a dedicated coach, he led his teams to many victories and took great pride in mentoring young athletes. His service extended beyond the field—he worked for T&N of Lone Star, Texas, and served as a Constable for Marion County for several years, always upholding a strong sense of duty and commitment to his community. He was honored to serve as Grand Marshall of the 2024 Ore City Fun Fest Parade.

Family was at the heart of everything Willie Lee did. He cherished time spent with his loved ones, sharing laughter and good food under the shade of a tree. His presence brought warmth, wisdom, and joy to those around him.

On February 13, 2025, Willie Lee departed this life peacefully at Longview Regional Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Leodis Anderson; his daughter, Blondie Anderson Frazier; and his siblings: Starling Anderson, Jimmy Lee Anderson, Howard Anderson, Ervin Anderson, Arthur Lee Anderson, Certist Parker, Cleo Anderson, Ozella Rockwell, Mary Lee Anderson, and Francis Morrow.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 39 years, Yulanda Jackson Anderson; three daughters, Demetria Anderson of Shreveport, LA, Jennie Rockwell of Jefferson, TX, and Frances  Beatty of Bon Wier, TX; two sons, Willie Franklin Anderson of Bon Wier, TX, and Eric Stanton (Jerri) of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by his sister, Pearl Criss of Ore City, TX; a special son-in-law, Darria Frazier of Cason, TX; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Willie Lee’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
