Windell Brown

My mother was born December 14, 1929 in Cass County, Texas to Membria and Erie Carter Brown. She attended school at Mt. Olive Public School and graduated from St. Monica Catholic High School in 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She joined Bethlehem Methodist Church at a very young age early and soon accepted and confessed Christ Jesus as her Lord and Savior, and held strong to her conviction for the remainder of her life. She was a fine noted homemaker. She was all the Mother I ever needed or wanted or ever could have dreamed for. I truly feel our relationship was God given, God inspired, and God blessed. It was, I feel, special. She loved people and people loved her. Wherever she went or wherever she was, her greeting and parting words were always, "God bless you, I love you" to everyone. For years she served as a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service, and treasurer of the Missionary Society. She remained a dedicated and faithful member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and supported all the local churches in the area until her health failed her in 1994. She resided at The Springs Nursing Center for the last twelve years of the life, but never lost one degree of the faith or conviction for the God she pledged her undying love for. She was an inspiration to all who met and knew her. My mother was the only natural child her parents birthed. But she had a collaboration of close kin and relatives from both paternal and maternal sides of her family that were her "heartfelt" brothers and sisters, too numerous to name one by one. And since love is a spirit, and a matter of the spiritual heart, each one should know their place and the love she had for you. And I personally want to thank and praise each and every one of you for the love and support and guidance you've given me from my beginning until this very blessed day. God bless you. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. My heart goes out to Lloyd and "Mama" Brown's family. Mama was a very special person, with taking care of her at The Springs, I grew to love her and her family as my own. I want to say that she will be deeply missed. She always had a smile for me and I don't think she ever met a stranger. I know that Mama will be a Angel in heaven looking down and will no longer be in pain, she is in a far better place. Lloyd as I spoke with you and told you, nobody can replace your Mama, I know from my loss recently of my Mother, but just remember the good times and keep those memories alive and as long as you are living she is still alive within you. Once again my deepest sympathy goes out to you.

  2. I happend upon the memorial for Ms. Brown, I would just like to tell you how moving and touching your memorial was for your mother. I can only hope and pray that I can leave such a beautiful legacy as your mother has. God's Blessings to you and yours forever and always. You are so truly blessed from God to have had a precious mother like you had.
