Alice Pope

Alice Garside Pope passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at a local hospital. Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at New Colony Baptist Church and Cemetery, Linden. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the Pope family asks that donations be made to a charity of choice. Born to Harry and Eula Eaves in Linden on Aug. 26, 1932, Mrs. Pope was a longtime resident of Fort Worth. Family and friends will remember Mrs. Pope for her feisty nature, love of life and her wonderful peach preserves. Survivors: Her devoted son, Kelly Neal Garside of Arlington; sisters, Mary Palmer of Arlington and Sherry Curry of Dallas; aunt, Annie D'Avignon of Dallas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
