Anitra Shenea Neal, known to family and friends as “Nee Nee,” passed away on April 13, 2018, at the age of 39 years. She was born to Tony Curtis Neal and Doris Sue Fisher-Neal on November 10, 1978 in Pittsburg, Texas. She graduated from Avinger High School in 1997. After graduation, she attended Tyler Junior College and was a member of Rock Island A.M.E. Church, now Rock Island Non-Denominational Church in Lone Star.
Anitra often spoke about becoming a motivational speaker. She believed God’s purpose for her life was to tell others all of what she had been through and how God had healed and delivered her time and time again. She had a special way of connecting with people. Her favorite one-liner was, “Whatever!” If anyone would ask her how she was doing, she would respond by saying, “I never would have made it without God, and I thank him most for my praying great grandmother, Moma Curley, who was also my personal prayer warrior.”
Anitra leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: her parents, Tony and Sue Neal; brother, Antonio Neal; God sister, Jonikka Loften; grandmother, Violet Collier; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Lois Neal, grandfather, Earmon Junior Neal, step grandmother, Cincinnati F. Neal; grandfather, Eugene Fisher; step grandmother, Earma Jean Fisher; step grandfather, Hollis Collier; and great grandparents.
