Funeral services for Barbara Jo Locke Mashaw, 69, of Hughes Springs, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, at Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church near Hughes Springs with the Revs. Dan McGuire and Jay Pollan officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Hughes Springs under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Family visitation will be 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, August 9 at the funeral home. Mrs. Mashaw died Sunday at a Mount Pleasant hospital. She was born February 17, 1942 in St. Augustine County, Texas. She was a member of Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church near Hughes Springs. She is survived by her husband Jimmy Mashaw of Hughes Springs; her mother Carmadle Locke of Vidor; two sons and a daughter-in-law Marshall and Tammy Mashaw and Morgan Mashaw, all of Hughes Springs; one sister Gayle Ramirez of Vidor; one brother Billy Walter Locke of Gist, Texas; and one grand daughter Makayla Mashaw and one grandson Blaine Lewis , both of Hughes Springs. She was preceded in death by her father Walter Locke.

  1. Had the privilege of working and worshipping with Ms. Mashaw. No better privilege in all the world. Morgan and Marshall, your mom was a fantastic lady with a great sense of humor.

  2. Aunt Barbara was like no other. I remember spending the night with her, Uncle Jim, Morgan and Marshall when the boys and I were small. It was always a lot of fun and I have amazing memories of her being a very loving person with high expectations of the people she loved. She will be missed.

  6. Jimmy,I remember so well you and Barbara being here in Tarkington. We all had such a good time in Young Homemakers and Young Farmers. Barbara and I always enjoyed having tuna sandwiches together when you all lived in the Faircloth house and I was down there working with grass seed. I remember that Marshall and Shane were the same age and Morgan and Shanda were born the same year but Morgan was born in the spring and Shanda in December. Our prayers go out to you and your family. Mother and I wanted to be there today but George is very sick and my husband is also very sick…today is day 31 that Bob has been in Baylor Hospital.
