Graveside services for B. F. Bodie Morris, 82, of Hughes Springs, will be on Thursday, May 14th at 10 AM at Hughes Springs Cemetery with Rev. Larry Neeley officiating under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Bodie was born on November 14, 1926 and died on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at a Linden hospital. He was a US Army Air Corps Veteran having served in the Philippines and Manilla. He worked for Lone Star Steel for 47 years without missing a day of work. He was a Baptist and a member of the VFW. He loved fishing, dominoes and hunting for Indian artifacts. Survivors include his wife of 61 years Ruby Nell Morris of Hughes Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law Jimmy Morris (Jan) of Gilmer and Bobby Morris (Deborah) of Longview; one daughter Linda Nell Vanover of Hughes Springs; eight grandchildren Kristie Copeland (Tray) of Tyler, Krystal Bridwell (Chris) of Hughes Springs, Angie Lowery (Blu) of Linden, Amber Cruz (Juan) of Hughes Springs, Bobby Morris Jr. (Teshina) of Hughes Springs, Brandon Morris of Longview, Stevie Vanover of Lakeland, FL and Stacie Vanover of Hughes Springs; seven great grandchildren Gracie Copeland, Audrey Copeland, Gage Bridwell, Riley Kay Lowery, Garrett Lowery, Axcil Cruz and Devon Morris; brothers- and sisters-in-law Cotton and Jerry Cook, Faye Pittser, Mildred and T.R. Ogden, all of Hughes Springs, Evelyn Cook of Marshall, Bit Cook of Linden and Mary Lois Cook of Longview, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his brother Aubrey Gooch.

  3. We were so sorry to hear of Mr. Bodie's passing away. He has gone on to his "Glory" now. Daddy is showing him around heaven's baseball field!! He was a great man.

  4. I am sorry to hear about your husband. My husband, Ronnie Joe Saxon, worked with him at LSSteel. He talked about Bodie alot and always said he was a good man.My Ronnie passed away in 1996. I will be praying for you.
