Resided in: Hughes Springs, Texas

Cheryl Ann “Cheri” Norris, age 76, of Hughes Springs, Texas, passed away on February 3, 2025, at her home. Cheri was a kind and selfless Christian woman, always ready to lend a hand or share a smile. She was an adopted grandmother to many. Her heart knew no bounds, whether you were family by blood or by love, you were always welcome at Mamaw’s house. She found joy in crafting and spent countless hours making heartfelt creations for her loved ones, leaving behind beautiful keepsakes that will be treasured forever.

A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs, Cheri was deeply involved in church life before her health declined. She cherished the fellowship of her Sunday School Class. She admired and looked up to the ladies of the Joy Class.

Cheri dedicated years of service to both the Hughes Springs Library and her beloved church, touching lives with her warmth and generosity. Her absence leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her spirit lives on in the love she shared and the memories she created.

She was reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of nearly 36 years, Dennis Norris; her parents, William R. Roush and Pearle Frazier; her son, Michael Anthony James; and seven brothers.

Cheri’s legacy continues through her daughter, Beth Ann James; grandchildren, William Christopher James, Mary James, Allison Dawson and husband Michael, Aaron James, Nouh M. Pitzer and wife Margot, Brandon L. Pitzer and wife Ashley, Samuel W. Pitzer, Jennifer G. Lambert, Cynthia J. Sweeney, and Stephanie Hopson; 11 great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; two brothers; and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

A time of viewing and visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
