Funeral services for Miss Gertie Crockett, 78, of Diana will be 11 AM Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Harleton Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Washington officiating. Burial will follow at Crockett Cemetery in Harleton under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Miss Crockett was born March 11, 1932 in Harrison County, TX to Bellam and Ina Mary Crockett and passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at her home. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and served the church faithfully until her death. She received her education in the Harrison County Public Schools. Survivors include one sister Earnestine Knox (Edgar) of Diana; two sisters-in-law Baby Jean Crockett of Ore City and Paula Crockett of Marshall; a large number of loving nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Pleaz Crockett, Hayward Crockett and Harry Crockett; two sisters Lessie B. Armstrong and Doney Bell Patton. Ms. Crockett will lie in state on Friday, December 10th and the family will receive friends from 5-8 PM at the funeral home in Hughes Springs.
