Funeral services for J C Tucker, 65, of Hughes Springs, will be at 3 PM on Friday, May 1, 2009 at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Tucker was born on July 26, 1943 in Morris County to Doc and Lillie Tucker and died on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at a Linden hospital. Mr. Tucker was a member of the Assembly of God Church and he had been retired from Le Tourneau since 2003 after many years. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law Steve and Amy Tucker, and Dwayne and Thresa Tucker all of Hughes Springs; one daughter Bonnie Avila of Hughes Springs; three sisters Margie Woodall of Mesquite, Frances Walton of Pittsburg and Carmon Taylor of Hughes Springs; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Tucker will lie in state on Thursday, April 30th and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home in Hughes Springs.
