Shelton, a bright, young soul, passed away on February 22, 2024, in Waverly, Virginia. Born to Fomika Haskins and Brannon Haskins, Sr. on May 25, 1998 in Atlanta, Texas. He became a member of Gum Springs CME Methodist Church at a young age. You may have seen him, traveling down Highway 8, on his 4-wheeler with Chase and Branna every Sunday morning.
Shelton’s life was a vibrant tapestry of hugs, humility, kindness, and laughter. He was a loving and wonderful Dadda to his son, Zayne, who was his whole world. As a free-spirit, he lived his life fully making memories and sharing his big, beautiful smile along the way. His quick wit, respectfulness, and adventurous spirit touched everyone he met. He wrote music, loved sports specifically football and wrestling, and playing video games.
Shelton was preceded in death by his Papa, Robert Foster.
Shelton is survived and deeply missed by his son Zayne Kai, his mother, Fomika Haskins, his father, Brannon Haskins, Sr. (Anquaneshia), his brothers, Chaselyne, Brannon, Jr., Anquan, and Aiden, and his sisters, Branna and Alyriah. He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Sharon Foster and Wayne Mathews, his paternal grandparents, Annie Shackleford (Austin) and Jessie Haskins, and a close-knit family of aunts, Daphne Roberson (Carlas) and Mary Hawkins (Tramond), uncles, Dwayne Mathews (Brandi), Byron Haskins (Marquette), Kadrion Haskins, Aundra Haskins, Daviunta Haskins, and McKenzie Haskins, cousins, Zayne’s Mom, Reshaundra Darty, a special friend from Virginia, Emoni Wiliams, other relatives, and many friends.
Shelton’s legacy of hugs, humility, kindness, and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his bright light will never dim and when you are missing him most, look in Zayne’s face and you will see his big, beautiful smile.
